Artist Eye, in conjunction with Nine Am, has commissioned the artist Paul Maffrett to design the The ‘Cathedral of Light’, the centrepiece of ‘Vegas Supernova’ at Selfridges, which runs till the 15th of May.  (*for opening hours, see below)

The ‘Cathedral of Light’ is a spectacular large-scale art installation, which transforms all 5 floors of the Central Atrium of Selfridges, Oxford Street, filling it with movement and light.

The idea behind this artwork is an imaginary cathedral where the pulpit has become a giant fruit machine, out of which streams of moving light emerge, rising up, past all the shopping floors, to the “Gods” and the overarching $ symbol of CASH.
